Lorne Lanning, co-founder of developer Oddworld Inhabitants, has revealed that classic platform outings Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exodus will be unleashed on PlayStation Network on October 22.
Posting on the official PlayStation Blog, Lanning commented, “We couldn’t have been more thrilled when we learned that the PlayStation Network was willing to offer our classic Abe games to an entirely new generation of gamers.”
“Finally, gamers who never got the chance to meet and play him when he first came out on the PSone system, will now get that chance to meet the guy who graced many magazine covers and proved the unlikely hero that captured people’s hearts.”
The Oddworld entries previously hit PSone back in the late 90s, garnering critical acclaim and racking up a mammoth fanbase in the process. Both games will retail on PSN for a wallet-friendly $9.99 USD each.
Elsewhere, Lanning also addressed the possibility of bringing Munch’s Oddysee and Stranger’s Wrath to Sony’s online service, stating, “We’re working on a strategy to bring them over as well. May take us awhile, but we hope to achieve what you’re asking for.”

Abe's Oddysee is probably one of my all time favorite Playstation 1 games. Brings back great memories.

Holy carp! Definitely getting these(even though I still have the originals). What's more is, their working to also get Munch AND Stranger on PSN. That there's a deal sealer for me. Beautiful games. I loved them and wished those came on PS2, but alas, m$ pockets are too deep. System exclusives are the only reason I even own an original xbox. Thank you, Mr. Lanning & SCE!!!!!

HOLY COW! I just posted about this on another thread this week. I couldn't understand why classic titles like Oddworld, Fear Effect or Parasite Eve were not hitting the store. Nice to see Abe making it:) I can't wait to download these!
That would be great for PSonly owners to get Munch and Stranger in the future as well. I own and still play both on the Xbox, they were every bit as brilliant as the early titles!

Insanely tough games, at times... Played it on the PC not more than a few months back! It was freakin' nostalgic... Ahh, good times.
I don't know if I'm willing to spend 20 bucks on these two games, though. It's definitely a good deal since even on eBay they are going for easily 15+shipping for the just ONE of them (PS1 version, not PC).
