Electronic Arts has whipped the covers off the official E3 2009 trailer for World War II combat romp, Battlefield 1943: Pacific.

The trailer itself focuses on promoting the unlockable ‘Coral Sea’ dogfight map, which players can access once specific conditions are met during the main game. Aside from that, WWII aficionados should be in for a treat here, with a plethora of meticulously recreated planes, tanks and infantry weaponry at your disposal.

Battlefield 1943: Pacific will be released on PlayStation Network for $14.99 USD in June 2009.

Be quiet, Tom. The Battlefield franchise and its gameplay elements have been there way before Warhawk entered the market.

I think its going to be £15, I hope the ground gameplay is decent - most of the trailers are focusing on their new planes which looks straight out of warhawk xD

As long as the infantry stand a chance against the planes (unlike warhawk) then the game should be a blast

Seems kind of a steep goal just to unlock one level, doesn't it?

Warhawk? The Battlefield series have been around a long time before the PS3 version of Warhawk. Like 10 years before. Go back and play 1942/Vietnam/2/2142. Warhawk is a complete ripoff of Battlefield and sucks compared to them.

This "Coral Map" used to be in the old 1942 aswell.. in one of the expansion packs.

I really hope they make it as good as the 1942 game. I couldnt get enough of that. Wish it would run on my comp still :( Loved the old good maps El' Alamein and such.

Flying was awesome and havent seen any games where the flying is as good as in BF 1942.
