EA announced the latest game in its growing EA Sports catalog, MMA, a mixed martial arts franchise.

Peter Moore had previously stated that MMA was the future of fighting, despite the fact that EA was still very excited about Fight Night Round 4.

The game is scheduled for release in 2010 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. EA Tiburon is working on the new game, which will feature a number of real-world fighters. More details should arrive soon.

They got a heck of a mountain to climb to compete with Undisputed.  Especially since by then THQ will have a sequel in the works and a ton of fixes and refinements.

I agree with the last comment. I usually never care about playing as the fighters in Wrestling games (because I always make my own hilarious characters) In Undisputed I actually wanna play as BJ Penn, Anderson, Machida, GSP.

The gameplay really has to be a lot better than Undisputed to make me wanna get it. They could bring in Fedor for the cover.

I never liked any of the mma games and always thought EA would be the only company to do it right.

Strikeforce, DREAM, and Affliction fighters?  Sounds interesting, I feel like EA might actually do a better job than THQ (hopefully) but they really need to work to get some big name fighters.  THQ did a good job but the game certainly has it's problems that I hope EA will look to fix, like the crazy random flash KO's, the repeated fighting styles, missing fighting styles, the abundance of "Create-a-fighter" looking fighters, lack of ring-entrances, and some small issues with the ground game.

If EA can secure fighters like Aoki, Andrei, Fedor, Sokoudjou and more then this should be a good game and some nice competition for THQ.
